My name is Pawan Shahi (35 yrs). I live in Patharaiya- 8 Katakse of Kailali. There are three members in my family. Ten years ago, my husband went India for labour work and got married there and never came back. Our bad days started thereafter and we had difficult living situation. Fortunately, Good Neighbors Nepal appeared as supporting hand and supported my son Suresh Shahi to get free education. Now, he is studying at Arunodaya Higher Secondary School.

I used to work as day labor for our living. 2013 will remain memorable year for me forever because I got opportunity to receive six months sewing training organized by Kailali Patharaiya Community Development Project of Good Neighbors Nepal. After completion of training, one sewing machine, one scissor and measuring tape were provided to me. With that support, I felt confident enough to establish my own tailoring shop in my own house. Now I earn around 12,000 NRS per month. I am convinced now to open tailoring center in Katakse market area and hope to earn sufficient money to support my children.
