I am Sima (13 years), studying in grade seven at Kalika Lower Secondary School in Tikapur VDC of Kaillai district. We are ex-bonded laborers and belong to the Tharu community. My father works at a brick factory as a day laborer to meet our basic needs and my mother takes care of all household chores.

When I was studying in class two, GNI selected me as a sponsored child and our family became very happy. Until now, all of my educational expenses have been borne by GNI. I pay full attention to my studies because I want to be a successful person in the future. I have been securing first position in the past years board exams. Besides, I always take part in running competitions.  So far I have won the best player and best girl athlete awards two times in local competitions. I also secured third position in Far-western Region Athletic Competition.

I am really grateful to GNI for regularly providing with sports uniform, shoes, and nutritious food which have made it easy for me to take part in different athletic competitions. My future plan is to win far western region athletic competitions so that I can participate in the national level competitions. My ultimate goal is to represent Nepal at international  athletic competitions.  I want to make my country proud.
