Village Income through Value Addition (VIVA) is a joint initiation of Korean International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) and GNI Nepal for identifying market-oriented production activities and by developing medicinal and aromatic plants (MAPs) industry. H plant has overall responsibility for implementation of VIVA in close coordination with district level line agencies and concerned ministries. This project has been implementing in two districts – Mugu and Humla of Mid-Western Development Region. The project facilitated to establish processing unit for extraction of essential oils from medicinal and aromatic plants and to create rural employment opportunities. It has also constructed distillation unit in Humla and has also done market research in Nepal, India and overseas for the promotion of products and market expansion.
