Project Agreement Signed

We are delighted to share that GNI Nepal has signed Project Agreement (PA) with Social Welfare Council, Nepal and will be working for five years (2016-2020) through Child Centered Community Development Projects in thirteen districts (67 VDCs and 11 municipalities) of Nepal. This fourth phase five years agreement is the continuation of our programs in Nepal since 2002.

We will work with 14 local implementing partners for implementing the projects. The projects have education, livelihood enhancement, health and wash, sponsorship service, and child protection as the core components. Crosscutting issues— gender, advocacy, disaster risk reduction, environmental management, and partnership and network building activities have also been incorporated in the PA.

We have balanced both hardware and software while designing the activities for this phase. The proportion of the hardware and software is around 45:55. However, this framework might be subject to readjustment based on the community needs assessment. The number of working VDCs, municipalities, and districts may increase during the projects implementation in accordance with the donors’ requirement, budget addition, and in case of emergencies.

Poorest of the poor children, their parents, disadvantaged and marginalized communities, people from remote areas, community based organizations (cooperative, mothers group, farmer group, self-help group, SMC, PTA, child club, youth club, HFOMC, VCPC, VWASHCC, and FCHV) are GNI Nepal’s main target groups.

We thank all of our well-wishers for their patience and support.
