#GNINepal recently organized a "Soil Testing Campaign" in Chaurpati Rural Municipality, Achham District, as part of the Climate Smart Village project. The campaign tested 179 soil samples from various locations within the rural municipality. The tests assessed different soil properties, including pH levels, organic matter content, and nutrient availability. Farmers received testing reports promptly along with essential guidance on improving soil fertility and management practices.
The Soil Testing Campaign aims to assess soil health and fertility and provide essential information for sustainable agricultural practices in building climate-resilient communities. By identifying nutrient deficiencies and soil conditions, the campaign empowers farmers to make informed decisions on crop choices and nutrient management, reducing vulnerability to climate-related stresses. Ultimately, this initiative fosters resilient agricultural systems, contributing to food security and environmental conservation in the face of climate change.
