On September 14, 2024 (Bhadra 29, 2081), Nepal celebrated its 60th National Children's Day under the theme "Investing in Children, Securing a Bright Future." GNI Nepal joined the celebration by organizing a variety of activities across its project areas. A total of 14 Integrated Community Development Projects (ICDPs), covering 20 local governments in 15 districts where operates, including Achham, Bajura, Bardiya, Darchula, Dhanusha, Doti, Gorkha, Humla, Kaski, Lalitpur, Mahottari, Mugu, Myagdi, Nuwakot, and Parbat, were involved in the celebrations.
The events primarily focused on extracurricular activities such as speech competitions, quizzes, drawing contests, cultural performances, and games. These activities aimed not only to remind stakeholders and the community of Nepal’s commitment to protecting and promoting child rights but also to help children understand their rights, express their talents and potential creatively, and inspire all students to explore and pursue their creative interests.
Around 3,500 people, including elected officials, local government representatives, security personnel, schoolteachers, students, School Management Committee members, child protection advocates, media personnel, children, development practitioners, and community members, actively participated in the celebration exhibiting their commitment to child rights protection and promotion in Nepal.
