The “River Basin Regreening Campaign” continues under the project “Safety Net of Innovative Land Tenure Solutions for Near-Landless Sharecroppers and for a Greener Rural Nepal.”
This initiative supports around 300 landless farmers and sharecroppers in practicing communal farming and utilizing fallow river basins through the adoption of Climate Smart Agriculture Technologies, aiming to enhance their livelihoods .
The project has recently supported farmers in cultivating climate-resilient varieties of groundnut, sweet potato, green gram, and pigeon pea across 21 Hectares of fallow river basin in Gadawa, Rapti, and Lamahi Municipality .
Funded by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs (MAFRA) of the Republic of Korea, the project has been implemented since mid-2024 by Good Neighbors International Nepal, in partnership with UN-Habitat Nepal and the Community Self-Reliance Centre (CSRC) .It is carried out in close collaboration with the Ministry of Land Management, Cooperatives, and Poverty Alleviation (MOLMCPA) across four municipalities in the Deukhuri Valley of Dang district.
