Baal Kachahari in Simkot Rural Municipality

Children from Aarughat and Dharche rural municipalities confidently made their voices heard at the municipal-level Baal Kachahari Program.

In this interactive session, the children questioned the key municipal leaders, the chairperson, vice chairperson, chief administrative officer, education officer, and other relevant officials on various issues about child rights, child protection, child abuse, and child marriage. The municipal leaders acknowledged the children’s voices and committed to uphold and protect child rights, prevent all forms of violence and abuse against children, implement child-focused programs and policies, and allocate dedicated budgets in future municipal plans for child-related issues.

This municipal-level Baal Kachahri marks a significant milestone in advancing child participation and accountability in local governance. It also emphasizes the importance of ongoing collaboration among children, communities, and local governments to ensure a safe, just, and supportive environment for every child.
